Colonial Booth Project

This was a project on colonial times and the colonies. My group got the Southern colonies, and we made a brochure, flyers and coupons to fill our booth. I learned a lot about the geography and how the life is of the people. I found it interesting working in a group we didn't choose, because we learned more about each person. It was interesting how easy it was to split up who does what and when you put it all together. Some stuff connects to our world, like the states are still around but Carolina split in two. It also relates to our climate and geography. This was a little about our projects.
Constitution Poster
We created a poster about our thoughts on the Constitution and sent them in to be in a contest. I created an American flag and within the thirteen lines I put in words that came to my mind. I learned a lot about all the amendments that were passed and the new rights. It was interesting how we got to enter in this contest and learn about the Constitution on Constitution day! What comes to your mind when someone says Constitution? This connects to our world because we live by these rights today.
Story of the 15th Amendment
This is our PSA amendment video. We had to make a video explaining the 15th amendment. I learned a lot of fun information about the amendment and how African Americans got the right to vote. It was interesting how much fun it was to recreate this amendment. Why was the world so cruel? This connects to our Constitution, and the freedom African Americans now have.
Salem Witch Trials Gravestone

This is my gravestone I made for Giles Corey. We watched a movie on the Salem Witch Trials and chose a person to make a grave for. I learned about how many accused witches they had, and how this man died because he didn't want to say that he joined the devil. This shows he has lots of courage, and this interests me because he would rather die. Why do you think he didn't just say he was a witch and live in jail instead? This connects to our Constitution, and many of our laws and rights.
Teenage Declaration of Independence
This is my Declaration of Independence, that I created in class. We had to come up with things that we don't like doing, and that we should be able to do. I learned that I am an extremely lucky girl and I couldn't ask for much more in life. It was interesting how hard it was for me to come up with ideas. How would you declare your independence? This connects to "Independence Day" because that is what inspired us to create these.
Childrens Book with Abby and Nicole
![Picture](/uploads/2/3/4/3/23434724/1384366870.png)
This is the childrens book we made teaching the Preamble. We created a book to help the children understand more about the Preamble, we basically rewrote the Preamble in our words. I learned all about how "We our the people of the USA..." It was interesting how we tied in art with history, and made books for 3rd graders. Would you want your children to read our book? This connects to our Preamble and our freedom in today's world.
Colonial Cookbook(in progress)
![Picture](/uploads/2/3/4/3/23434724/9608504.jpg)
This is our colonial lemon cake. We had to use each subject to find serving size, and history behind this delicious dessert. I learned that the way that people in the colonial time made this was a lot harder and more time consuming. They also had a couple different ingredients which were hard to find today. It interests me that our teacher had us actually create these foods and how we had a feast in class. What recipe would you choose from colonial times? This connects to me because I had many struggles making this and figuring out the right servings.
